Pranayama is the practice of controlling the breath. It has the power to soothe and revitalize a tired body, a challenged spirit, and a wild mind. The ancient sages taught that prana, the vital force circulating within us can be cultivated and channeled by using breathing exercises. In the process, the mind is calmed, rejuvenated, and clarity sets in. Pranayama serves as an important bridge between the external, active practices of yoga and the internal, surrendering practices that lead us into deeper states of concentration and meditation. Join Cinda as she shares some of the proper techniques of pranayama as taught directly to her by her guru Sri Dharma Mittra.
